Walter L. Jenkins is a Professor and Graduate Program Director in the Department of Physical Therapy at Nazareth College in Rochester, New York. Dr. Jenkins has been at Nazareth College for the past two years. He has been a faculty member and administrator for over 30 years serving at East Carolina (21 Years), the University of Kansas Medical Center (6 Years), and the University of Indianapolis (3 Years). Throughout his academic career, Walt has been active in teaching and curriculum development, administration and service.
Walt’s research focus is epidemiology and prevention of athletic injury. He has continued to be clinically active throughout his career by serving as a physical therapy consultant to university athletic programs and local clinics. Dr. Jenkins is very active in the American Physical Therapy Association’s American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy (AASPT), where he currently serves as Academy President (2016-2022). In 2010 he received the APTA AASPT’s Ron Peyton Award, and he was inducted into the Hall of Fame for Lifetime Achievement in 2012.
