Dr. Leo C. Kormanik II
D.C., M.S., CCSP
Ohio Sports Chiropractic and Rehab
2018 USA Track and Field U20 World Champs Provider
As an elite distance runner and 2012 Olympic Trials marathon qualifier, Leo Kormanik saw his career as an athlete littered with injuries. In response to these setbacks, he dedicated himself to learning the best ways to treat injuries both swiftly and effectively to shorten recovery time for the athlete and prevent future problems. As a result, Dr. Kormanik is not only proficient in spine and extremity adjusting, but is also certified in Active Release Technique (ART), Graston Technique, Fascial Abrasion Technique (FAT-Tool), and Dry Needling.
Dr. Kormanik is recognized by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP). This means Dr. Kormanik is one in a select group of chiropractic providers capable of treating athletes at the highest level of professional sports. He has also worked on staff for USA Track and Field and USA Gymnastics at numerous championships and events. In 2016 he completed an internship at the Olympic Training Center headquarters helping to prep the USA teams before the Rio Olympics.
Dr. Kormanik by no means limits himself to treating athletes. His goal is to help anyone looking to improve their personal performance health – whether that means experiencing less pain while walking, have more strength for yard work, shooting the winning goal, or running a personal best.
Dr. Kormanik attended Life University in Atlanta, GA (2008-2011) where he earned a Doctor of Chiropractic degree and a Masters in Sports Injury Management. Born in Akron, Ohio, and a graduate and Hall of Fame member of Malone University in Canton, Ohio, he chose to bring his passion for performance health home to northeast Ohio by opening Ohio Sports Chiropractic in Northfield in 2012.
